Pressure has been described in different techniques by different people. The business person may determine stress because frustration or perhaps emotional tension; the air targeted traffic controller may well define it as a problem of alertness and attentiveness, while the biochemist may define stress like a purely chemical event (Ivancevich and Mattenson, 1990). Specialists and biologists think of pressure as any stress that interrupt the functioning of an organism (The Fresh Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2007). Medical professionals think of tension as a element that causes pressure and disease (Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 2003).

From a layperson's point of view, stress can be defined as feeling tense, pressure, and worry (Ivancevich, Konopaske and Mattenson, 2008).
